Nadia Gomez

Biography Dr. Nadia Gomez MD, FACOG, MBA
Dr. Nadia Gomez completed her Obstetrics & Gynecology (OBGYN) Residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and her fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecology Surgery (MIGS) through AAGL at Cleveland Clinic Florida. After her training, she was recruited to Las Vegas as Director of MIGS at Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine (SOM) at UNLV in the Department of Gynecologic Surgery and Obstetrics (GSO). She leads the resident MIGS curriculum, a busy MIGS only clinical academic practice, and works with hospital leadership to bring new technology and research to the institution. She has received several awards including APGO Excellence in Teaching Award and the national Castle Connolly Top Doctor Award.
Dr. Gomez specializes in endometriosis, fibroids, and complex chronic pelvic pain. She is well versed in robotic, laparoscopic, and vaginal surgery. She is a subject matter expert and member of the AAGL Essentials in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (EMIGS) curriculum committee and an Advisory Board member of the International Pelvic Pain Society (IPPS). She is passionate about surgical innovation and currently leading an FDA clinical trial at her institution involving a miniature single port robotic platform. Dr. Gomez received her Executive MBA through the University of Nevada Reno. As interim Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs, she is part of the executive leadership team at UNLV Health, a multidisciplinary physician practice Faculty group for the school of medicine. In her role, she searches ways to bring new technology and treatment options to serve patients in Las Vegas and surrounding communities. She is currently one of two physicians to provide Sonata for treatment of uterine fibroids in the state of Nevada. Most recently, she helped SOM secure a $1.8 million-dollar HRSA grant to develop an integrated maternal healthcare model that addresses social determinants of health and decreases maternal morbidity and mortality in southern Nevada.
